When many of us answer the call to give back to important organizations or causes, we give of our time, our talent, and our treasure. The Alpha Upsilon chapter of Beta Theta Pi is in need of continued alumni dedication and support and you can contribute your time, talent, and treasure in the following ways:
The Abbey Leadership Foundation (ALF)
The Abbey Leadership Foundation (ALF) is dedicated to the building of men of principle for a principled life through the support and development of the premier Fraternity living and leadership experience. The Abbey Leadership Foundation (ALF) is a designated 501(c)-3 charitable organization established for the purpose of endowing the chapter house and leadership experiences of the Alpha Upsilon Chapter of Beta Theta Pi. The ALF endowment provides annual funding for the maintenance, improvements, and operating cost of the designated educational areas within the chapter house. This funding provides the critical financial support to ensure that the chapter house will forever remain the premier fraternal living environment in North America. In addition, the ALF funds the leadership development activities of the chapter through the Alpha Upsilon Leadership Program and by providing scholarships to Beta Theta Pi and Penn State leadership development opportunities.
The Abbey Leadership Foundation has successfully garnered pledges of over $500,000 to date. However, for the ALF to fully advance its mission and vision, an endowment of at least $3 million dollars will be required. This call to action is directed to every Alpha Upsilon alumnus, every Beta brother, and all who seek to ensure that a values-based fraternity experience will remain a critical part of the undergraduate experience at Penn State.

Mitchell fund contributions support the ongoing maintenance of the chapter house, as well as alumni communications efforts. The Conover Award for the most outstanding pledge, the Shields award for exemplary service to the chapter, and the Paul Hittner and John Greiner award for outstanding leadership at PSU and within the chapter, are all three administered through the University.
